If you know me, you know I bake bread, a lot of it. By now there isn’t a single piece of gear left that I think I “need” in order to get better. Just time. It’s a practice, both in that I do it regularly and it brings me a sense of stability like a meditation practice, but also the sense of “practice” to suggest there is no mastery, that bread baking is an ever-evolving part of my life to which I feel more and more humble every single time I make a loaf.
It gives and takes. It’s both teacher and child.
So what are the basic tools of practice for bread making?
